Rebecca Black is dropping a remix of ‘Friday’

This is an image you can HEAR.

The streets asked for a hard remix to save 2021 and OG viral star Rebecca Black is coming through with the heat.

10 years ago this Friday, Rebecca Black dropped the anthem of the decade – ‘Friday’ and you best believe she’s dropping a remix this week to celebrate.

Back in 2011, the singer blew up online and subsequently (and sadly) received a barrage of abuse. The formulaic video was memed into oblivion, removed (and later reuploaded) and predictably she regressed to the shadows, later admitting she suffered mental health problems after the fact.

Now, Rebecca has made a bit of a comeback. She’s featured on hyper pop trailblazer Dorian Electra’s album, released a single this year already and has been pretty active on Youtube and social media.

She took to social media yesterday, to reveal the news in a post:

““This week FRIDAY turns 10 AND has gone GOLD… Been cooking up a very special remix featuring some iconic people………..it drops on the 10 year anniversary TOMORROW NIGHT @ MIDNIGHT”, Rebecca announced.

Last February, the singer spoke out on Twitter about her experience saying, “I just wish I could go back and talk to my 13 year old self who was terribly ashamed of herself and afraid of the world”.

It’s unclear who is on the remix, but all will be revealed very soon. Keep your eyes peeled for the remix of ‘Friday’ dropping tonight (10 Feb) at Midnight on all DSPs.

Elsewhere, we broke down the key takeaways from the ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary, including Justin Timberlake’s supremely tiny dick energy.
