Saoirse Miller’s Serene Ambient Sound Will Be Filling The Guinness Storehouse On Culture Night

Culture Night occurs on 19 September. Streets and buildings are set to come alive across the country and the Guinness Storehouse is no exception.

The night marks the launch of the ‘These Walls’ project, a campaign honouring Dublin 8’s creative legacy. Throughout the rollout of ‘These Walls’, art will fill Dublin, combining the works of multiple artists.

Kicking this off on Culture Night in The Storehouse is a specially created soundscape from some District favourites, Saoirse Miller and Wastefellow. It’s a one-night-only immersive experience to mark Ireland’s most vibrant day. Their sonic piece will be combined with the contemporary dance of Rachel Ní Bhraonáin and Emily Kilkenny Roddy. This is paired with a 360 immersive experience, bringing to life the These Walls artwork of Deirdre Breen and Owen de Forge. A truly multisensory affair that honours the legacy that Dublin 8 harbours.

We’ve been Saoirse Miller’s day ones. She is a master of sending shivers down your spine with elongated synths and her elegant vocals. Most recently, she featured on the cover of District’s ‘Criminally Underrated Artists List’, spotlighting her track ‘Birds’.

There’s nobody else who can quite engulf your brain with reverb and ambience quite like Saoirse. Her sound invokes a feeling of ancient Ireland, combined with contemporary production to make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Saoirse’s work has a gentle softness which can fill a room. It truly blurs the lines between poetry and music.

Farouk Alao Artwork on Crane Street

These Walls is a multiphase project by The Guinness Storehouse. It’s an evolving landscape over time across Dublin 8 with a spectrum of visual artistic styles. This includes public artwork throughout Thomas Street, created by artists Deirdre Breen and Owen de Forge. As well as this, there is artwork on Crane and Market Street, created by Alice Rekab, Venus Patel, Thaís Muniz, and Farouk Alao. Each artist has a personal connection with the space and their work, highlighting the area’s layered history.
