There’s a new food truck in Portobello that everyone is on about

They have us hook, line, and sinker

There’s a new food truck called Sharkbait Shelbys that a lot of people have been on about. In typical Dublin hype fashion, it has just launched, as in their doors literally opened on Sunday, during Baste’s “Beaster weekend”. Sharkbait Shelbys are operating out of the BBQ maverick’s Clanbrassil Street premises in Portobello, which has been extended into an outdoor food market.

Getting information about the food truck is proving a little difficult. Its Instagram bio claims that it sells “MOULES – CLAMS – FRITES,” but as yet a menu hasn’t been put up. Sharkbait Shelbys have posted a video of their “classic moules” being sprinkled with parsley, and an image of their “Fish bun” which looks like a far cry from your typical dull fish burger, gleaming batter, with pops of preserves and lashings of sauce.

Photos from happy customers on Instagram, give a couple more details about the menu. Dishes like a healthy portion of fish fried, a crumbed top pasta dish, large prawns served with spicy style, and a side of kimchi. It all looks very promising, hopefully, more information will emerge on the full menu soon.

Sharkbait Shelbys are currently operating out of Baste BBQ’s premises in 39 Clanbrassil Street Upper, for hopefully information on openings and menu follow them on Instagram.
