Skepta and Jammer Just Launched their own House Label

Words: Dylan Murphy

The new electronic label Más Tiempo is home to their new collaborative EP Mas Murder.

Skepta is a man of many talents. Whether that’s rap, painting or his involvement in fashion, he’s a multi-hyphenate in every sense. However, the Mercury-Prize winning rapper started his career as a producer and DJ and today, he’s returned to his roots with the release of ‘Mas Murder’ with fellow BBK member Jammer. Though he cut his teeth producing grime instrumentals, he’s now swapped glacial 140BPM grime rhythms for house.

The release comes ahead of a label launch party at London’s KOKO on 30 April 2023. It’ll be the first time Skepta has performed in the venue since his 2016 album Konnichiwa. It comes after Skepta made his debut at DC10 for Circoloco last summer alongside other appearances in Milan, Ibiza and more. The forthcoming debut EP is a snapshot of the new label’s direction, with J Kolo and Ossie (Club Bad/Madhouse) featuring on the release.

“‘This generation rules the nation, with version’… that really resonated with us for the Más Tiempo journey. Musical Youth sampled on ‘Mas Murder’ was perfect to showcase the way we feel about giving people our spin on house production with instrumentals while paying homage to the ones that came before us”, says label co-founder Jammer.
