Stephen Donnelly caught allegedly buying fake retweets on Twitter

The plans for the National Maternity Hospital appear to be greatly supported by the Turkish community.

Stephen Donnelly took to Twitter this afternoon to reinforce his beliefs that the National Maternity Hospital deal agreed by the Government today was the right decision.

Amongst plenty of controversy, it appears that someone in his social media department thought it was appropriate to purchase 200 retweets for his video message to the public about the National Maternity Hospital decision.

Pointed out by Virgin Media reporter Rob O’Hanrahan, the retweets all occurred in less than twenty minutes of the video. After another twenty minutes passed, the number of retweets increased by….one.

The Department of Health press office have commented on the issue saying: “Neither the Department nor the Minister have paid for any promotional activity in relation to his social media accounts”.

So is Stephen just really popular in Turkey?
