Storefront honour a boxing legend in their newest collection

Words: Ellen Kenny

The Derry-based brand and physical Storefront are launching their newest boxing-themed collection today.

Storefront are back with the their latest collection just in time for autumn. Their new line, Storefront Boxing Club, features three colour of a heavyweight hoodie as well as T-shirts, caps and a jacket. The store will be launching this new collection today at 18:00 in their physical store in Waterloo Street, Derry.

This new collection is dedicated to the memory of an Irish boxing icon hailing from Storefront’s hometown of Derry. Billy “Spider” Kelly was an Irish boxer from Derry, a town rich in its love for fighting. A “humble” man from a working class background, he won the 1952 Commonwealth featherweight title and the following year he seized the British featherweight title. Billy passed away in 2010 with a record of 56 wins and 24 defeats.

Storefront dedicated this collection to him as a reminder to people of the town and to educate others of this man’s accolades and what he did for boxing in Northern Ireland.

Storefront is an independent brand and physical store who “take great pride in being an Irish business and do so by designing, manufacturing and distributing all of our brand locally”. Storefront is also the first of its kind in Northern Ireland to stock brands such as Palace, Stussy, Supreme, Carhartt and a range of sneakers including Jordans, Yeezys. Air Max & More.
