The final season of Derry Girls is now on Netflix

Words: Ellen Kenny

The final season of the hit TV show Derry Girls is finally going international.

While Ireland mourned the loss of Derry Girls months ago, international watchers (who didn’t pirate it, anyway) only have it coming to them now. The final season of the Channel 4 hit has just reached Netflix.

All six episodes, along with the hour-long special finale, can be streamed on Netflix from today. While some episodes of the final season didn’t land as well as other seasons, who doesn’t love a good binge?

Now’s a great chance to relive all the best moments of the final season, from the haunted house in Donegal to the harrowing final episode.

Creator Lisa McGee recently told the New York Times that she struggled to say goodbye to her Derry Girls, while leading actress Saoirse-Monica Jackson told Vanity Fair that simply isn’t ready to say goodbye to the show. Well, neither are we.

Some of the Derry Girls will be making a few appearances on Netflix. The wee lesbian, also known as actress Nicola Coughlan, is set to lead the third season of Netflix’s yassified period romance “Bridgerton”. Going from the streets of Troubles-fuelled Derry to a corset in 18th-century London, it’s tragic really.
