The spiciest memes celebrating Ireland’s best free service – The Luas

Words: Dylan Murphy

They haven’t got much right during the pandemic, but I think we can all agree that the Luas being free has been a silver lining in a terrible 18 months.

Twitter isn’t good for much. For the most part, it’s like the sociology seminar where is no one has done the reading but everyone wants to keep talking over each other, but occasionally it serves a higher purpose.

Carl Kinsella hopped on Twitter to remind everyone that the Luas is definitely free and it feels like the shared love for the transport service is the only thing that’s managed to unite people in the hellscape of the past year.

Here’s the tweet that kicked it all off.

Mum’s the word, but here’s the best tweets and memes about the best god damn free service in the country.

We don’t stand for fake news in this house.
Who could forget, Oscar-nominated classic, ‘Free Luas’.
Amen.
