Joli, the new spot from the Bua team, will take up the mantle from Love Supreme on Manor Street.

The team behind Dublin 7’s latest speciality coffee shop are closing this week to work on the place a little. The hope is to open their doors with a fresh look next week. But, like Love Supreme, before it, Joli will be a café come wine bar.

Joli is a dynamic duo team of two guys, Neil and Bud. They spent the last two years focussing on their little cafe in Glasnevin, Bua, which opened at the beginning of the first lockdown. The focus at Bua has always been great coffee, so you can expect the same here at Joli.

Neil is a Marketing, Innovation and Technology graduate from DCU. According to DCU’s website Neil met who could go on to be his business partner for a coffee at the very start of lockdown. He had just returned from Australia and outlined that he would love to give starting his own business a go before applying for jobs. Neil had lots of time and energy to give to the project. They had talked about doing something together since we were kids, so the timing aligned and Bua was born.

Speaking to CHAR, Bud said, “We’re excited to have that bit more room to make additions to our menu here in Stoneybatter, but our number one goal is to have the best coffee, food and wine offering around!”

The name Joli is personal and comes from the first two letters of both their dad’s names, John and Liam. Each of whom was lost to cancer at different stages of Neil and Bud’s lives.
