A market once more

More details have emerged about Dinetown Dublin, Dublin 8’s most hyped food market. The market will be situated in the horse and cart yard of The Iveagh Market on Francis Street. Joining Sambulance Ambulance which has been operating out of the yard since February.

Dinetown Dublin organiser and founder of Sambulance Ambulance Marcus O’Laoire said the space will house “everything from delicious food vendors and trucks, brilliant coffee, fishmongers, crafts”.

“I grew up in Dublin 8, and to able to kick a bit of life into a space that’s been closed for almost 30 years, and that will ultimately serve the city is a very fulfilling thing,” he added.

A new coffee truck 999 Espresso have already opened their hatch in the space selling Imbibe Coffee.

There’s currently a call out for vendors to get in touch, with space for over 11 food trucks in the yard. O’Laoire noted that safety is a key focus, writing, “obviously we’re taking things slowly and to scale with restrictions, safety is always number one”.
