KhakiKid, RASHHIIID and more to take part in free creative event series next month

Words: Dylan Murphy

Get ahead of the inevitable new year’s resolutions with a live panel discussion about how to up your game as a creative. The conversation kicks off The Dean Connection Series with Jameson and is followed by performances from three of the country’s most exciting acts later that month, ahead of further events in Cork and Galway next year.

The end of the year brings time for reflection. Having had a month of rest and reassessment this January, we bookended the month by moderating a live panel conversation. Bringing together the creative community to share their experience about navigating the world of freelancing, it made for a transparent back and forth about the often times hidden challenges that come with working music, art and culture. This time, we’re getting ahead of the Christmas rush and moderating a conversation powered by Jameson in The Marshall Room at The Dean to do it all over again. What’s more is, there’s also a gig with three of Ireland’s most exciting acts – and it’s all free.

On Thursday 9 November, The Dean Connection Series with Jameson invites Doja Cat co-signed designer RASHHIIID, celebrated artist and songwriter Uly, Leah Hewson of Dean Arts Studio artists and Arnold Park Studios to join the conversation in The Marshall Room at The Dean to speak about their respective creative journeys.

Then on November 23, there’s a stacked bill for the subsequent gig in the same spot. Joining us on the night is one of the island’s most exciting rappers – Khakikid. He lands ahead of a UK and Ireland tour and the performance provides the opportunity to hear some new music for the very first time. Elsewhere, rising Irish-Cuban singer Qbanaa, fresh from sharing the stage with Mahalia in Vicar St brings soulful tones to the intimate settings. Last but not least, Shee brings his irresistible blend of dance music to the capital following a support slot announcement for Barry Can’t Swim and a string of huge festival and headline sets in Ireland, Canada and the UK.

What’s more is, there’s complimentary Jameson Ginger and Lime on arrival.

Tickets are free and available to both events now. Click below to book.
