Dlúthpháirtíocht invites us to look, listen, and act.
A powerful new exhibition organised by Daragh Drake & Seán Óg Ó Murchú uniting Irish and Palestinian voices is set to tour across Ireland this year, and it’s bringing together some of the most exciting names in contemporary art, including the ever-provocative Spicebag, who will be curating the Dublin leg.
Dlúthpháirtíocht (the Irish word for solidarity) is a multidisciplinary art collective made up of Irish, Palestinian, and international artists. It’s already made waves with its landmark 2024 show at London’s P21 Gallery, which became the largest-ever international exhibition of contemporary Irish art.
Now, the exhibition Dlúthpháirtíocht: Irish Solidarity with Palestine is going on tour, with stops in Dublin, Cork, and Belfast, (as well as in London) featuring rotating lineups and guest curators in each city. Each leg of the tour includes live performances, screenings, and workshops. The best part? It’s all in aid of Dignity for Palestine, a grassroots charity operating inside Gaza.
Alongside Spicebag, who is set to bring his signature mix of satire and social commentary to the Dublin leg, the exhibition features a diverse lineup of established and emerging artists. Jim Fitzpatrick, known for his iconic political iconography; Rula Halawani, a leading Palestinian photographer whose work documents life under occupation; Seamus Murphy, an award-winning photographer and filmmaker; and Aoife Cawley, whose mixed media work explores themes of cultural identity – all bring distinct and powerful perspectives.
