Toro has Popped Up tapas in Malahide

Words: Shamim de Brún

The new classic tapas bar, Toro is located on Townyard Lane in Malahide and is open Friday and Saturday nights from 17:00.

It’s unclear if they have taken over the venue permanently or will only be in town for a stint. But the word pop-up is firmly embedded in their name on their website so I’d put money on the latter.

The menu is full of the quintessential gambas, marinated olives, ham-and-cheese croquettes, et al. There is an extensive seafood selection and pig cheek empanadas with apple chutney.

Prices kick off at three euros for pinchos (snacks), and larger small plates averaging just under a tenner.
