Judging from the first look, Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All is a bloody nightmare.
The first trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s new horror-thriller Bones and All has arrived teasing Timothee Chalamet and co-star Theresa Park as flesh-eating lovers embarking on a road trip during the peak of Reagan’s America in the 1980s.
Alongside Chalamet and Park as Maren and Lee respectively, the film features an ensemble cast of frequent Guadagnino collaborators like Chloe Sevigny, Michael Stuahlberg and Jessica Harper,
“There is something about the disenfranchised, about people living on the margins of society, that I am drawn toward and touched by. I want to see where the possibilities lie for them, enmeshed within the impossibility they face,” Guadagnino spoke of the film.
“The movie is for me a meditation on who I am and how I can overcome what I feel, especially if it is something I cannot control in myself. And lastly, and most importantly, when will I be able to find myself in the gaze of the other?”
While this is Chalamet and Guadagnino’s second collaboration since Call Me By Your Name, it’s by no means as tender as the Oscar-winning film. Recently, the director clarified that a sequel to the 2015 romance may be in the works and will follow Elio at a later point in his life.
Bones and All arrives in Ireland on November 23.
