UK lynchpin Jevon shares debut album ‘Fell In Love In Brasil’

The globetrotting project highlights the strengths of one the London’s most inventive rappers.

Jevon’s debut album Fell In Love In Brasil has arrived today via Platoon. Building a reputation as a genre-defying artist through borderless anthems like ‘Girl From Bahia‘ and a illustrating his flair for creative production as hearrd in BBC Sound of 2020 winner Pa Salieu‘s ‘Frontline’, Jevon has carved out a unique space in the UK’s scene.

Crafted over three years, but informed by a lifetime of experiences, ‘Fell In Love In Brasil’ blends influences from Latin, bossa nova, disco, samba and sounds of the Brazilian legends he inherited from his grandfather’s record collection. It’s the result of an exploration of his heritage and visits to South America in the midst of political upheaval.

Jevon was also the lead producer on XL Recordings’ groundbreaking ‘New Gen’ compilation, working alongside artists like WSTRN, Ray BLK, Stefflon Don and Yxng Bane; not to mention producing for Nines’ critically acclaimed debut album ‘One Foot Out’.
