Video Premiere: Sick Nanley releases new video for ‘Mouthspit’

The first release on Burner Records is here.

Last week a collection of some Ireland’s most promising left-of-field hip hop artists announced they’d be joining forces. Burner Records is made up of rappers and producers Arbu, FYNCH, Local Boy, Marcus Woods and Sick Nanley, the latter being the first of the collective to release via the label.

“We’ve all been good friends and admirers of each others’ work for a while now, so banding together kind of just felt like the right move. We announced the label on Friday and the response has been unreal. Shout out Bobby Broaders real quick for giving us some help with the visuals. We have a lot of plans for the future and I’m really excited to see where it goes.”

The imprint’s debut track is ‘Mouthspit’, and we’ve got the premiere of its accompanying video, shot by Zak Milofsky.

“The song came into conception when I started cutting up a sample from a song by The Specials. I sent it on to Jake (Local Boy) and he worked his magic on it. From there we both worked on it together fleshing it out until we felt it was ready for a release. The lyrics are somewhat tongue-in-cheek, I’m just trying to have some fun with it. I don’t take myself too seriously and I think that’s obvious from the video.”

Check out the video, shot on a sunny day in Tallaght, below.
