Words: Dylan Murphy

M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller is set on a secluded beach that causes a family on holiday to age rapidly reducing their entire lives to a single day.

The new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Old has just dropped and it has our attention.

Releasing this summer, it sees a family on a tropical holiday head to a secluded beach. From there they relax for a few hours only to find their entire lives are reduced to a single day as they all age rapidly.

In the snappy trailer, the mother says, “He was six years old this morning” when finding her son, who is now an adult.

It stars Golden Globe winner Gael García Bernal (Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle), Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread), Rufus Sewell (Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle), Ken Leung (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Jupiter Ascending), Abbey Lee (HBO’s Lovecraft Country), Aaron Pierre (Syfy’s Krypton), Alex Wolff (Hereditary), Embeth Davidtz (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Eliza Scanlen (Little Women), Emun Elliott (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Kathleen Chalfant (Showtime’s The Affair) and Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit).

Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, Old comes from his screenplay based on the graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters.
