We Are Putting On A Seisiún Mór Traidisiúnta With International Literature Festival Dublin This Month

District and International Literature Festival Dublin are joining forces for an evening of contemporary Trad with some of Ireland’s finest and most talented players.

This will be a full-blown takeover of the Speranza Tent at Merrion Square Park, led by two of the most exciting Irish acts pushing the trad renaissance forward right now.

Neo-trad has gone from niche to the next big thing, and this Seisiún Mór Traidisiúnta taps directly into that energy. On the bill for this night will be is SexyTadhg and Ispíní na hÉireann who are guaranteed to get your feet tapping and your heart soaring. As trad meets the future, this joyful celebration of Ireland’s fastest-growing genre promises communal magic under the marquee.

SexyTadhg

SexyTadhg (Tadhg Griffin) is an artist who refuses to sit still, and rightly so. They are a multi-hyphenate artist blurring the lines between trad, theatre, fashion and Gaeilge activism. Whether it’s a powerful ballad or a chaotic 80s synth track, SexyTadhg brings explosive energy and fearless vulnerability to a live show that never repeats itself. Wonderful, wild, and unapologetically Irish. Expect the unexpected.

Ispíní na hÉireann

Pioneers of Trad-rock chaos, Ispíní na hÉireann are a wild, witty collective bringing Irish culture to brand new audiences, one explosive gig at a time. Equal parts trad session and punk gig, they are known for their raucous live shows of humour, pride, and joy. They sold out the 3Olympia on May 1 for a reason. This is Irish culture turned up loud, with banter, sweat, and a lot of heart.

Seisiún Mór Traidisiúnta takes place at the Speranza Tent, Merrion Square Park on Saturday 17 May, 20:15. Tickets are €12/€10 online here, or €20 on the door.
