Over Halloween, District is hosting four gigs with some of our favourite artists in Beavertown’s new pop-up HQ at 3 Eustace Street. Eight acts from 25-27 October and Halloween night will be taking to the brand new stage here in Dublin. Click here to not miss out on tickets.
On the weekend before Halloween and Halloween night itself, we’ve selected some of our most beloved Irish acts to be the first to take to the Beavertown’s new pop-up venue. Filling the nights with rap, RnB and the best electronic music this country has on offer, it’s a chance to see your favourites in a venue unlike most in town.
Friday 25 October
Fatboy From Bricknasty
Bricknasty have been a band that turn heads in any venue. At the core of the group’s creative direction are the riffs and vocals of Fatboy. Anyone who has witnessed Bricknasty live has felt how powerfully resonating their sound is. With their new project ‘Xongz’ taking Ireland’s ears into the winter, an unplugged solo set from Fatboy is the only thing that can elevate it.
Nealo
Nealo’s unc status rings true throughout the Irish music world. Still consistently dropping introspective tracks, his work blurs the lines between hip-hop and poetry. His most recent track from 2023 ‘Cereal’, saw him at his best as a powerful force alongside Morgana, Rach and Uly.
Saturday 26th October
F3miii
There aren’t many in Ireland who have had a better year than F3miii. His two singles ‘LOSTWITHOUTMARIA’ and ‘FROM YOUR EYES’ have garnered over 2 million streams. A part of District’s Future of Irish Music alumni, it’s almost impossible to find a more angelic voice.
Ricky Chong
The beautiful thing about Ricky Chong’s DJ expertise is that it’s so varied in sound. Always with a backbone of soul and groove, Ricky’s sets pull from the retro to excite a modern audience. Disco is a universal joy, and Ricky has a dossier of disco. He scratches that 70s itch.
Sunday 27th October
SLOUCHO
SLOUCHO hasn’t left our ears since the day we heard him. A figure shrouded in mystery, the one thing that’s for sure is his prominence in electronic sounds. Dropping tracks that make you take your headphones off in surprise, SLOUCHO shut down our Future of Irish Music event earlier this year and we can see him doing it again.
Rory Sweeney
Flip the soothing sounds of Ricky Chong on its head and you have the hectic world of Rory Sweeney. Big sets drawing on UK influences and samplings of a boundary-pushing ‘chronically online’ sound. Known for his production in the underground Irish world, Rory is probably the safest pair of hands in the country for an absolutely filthy bassline.
Halloween Night
DeCarteret
Take refuge from the cacophony of bangers, doorbells and awful costumes on Halloween with some RnB to heal the soul. A perfect mixture of the smoothest vocalists in Ireland. DeCarteret has dropped some gorgeous tracks this year, solo on ‘pray for you’ and under The X Collective with ‘Naked’. A voice like honey.
Rachel Mae Hannon
Complimenting her sound is Rachel Mae Hannon. Soulful music where you can feel the outpour of her heart into every track. Performing at Cork’s Jazz Festival and then hitting Beavertown HQ, the night proves to be a hub for the best RnB in the city.
