You can now get decent food at Dublin Zoo

Words: Emily Mullen

Wuuf Wuuf

For too long Dublin Zoo had prioritised (rightly) the meals of its animals over its visitors.

While the zoo might be known for a lot of things, culinary excellence is not one of them. 90s kids will remember the greasy fare shoved into the grubby excitable hands of screaming annoying children.

Now humans can get some decent grub in the zoo, since Wuuf rolled up their hot dog truck into the centre of it.

Launched by chef Gavin McDonagh, previously Chef Patron of Michelin listed Brioche restaurant in Ranelagh which closed in 2017.

Working as Group Executive Chef at Baxterstorey, McDonagh has been heading up their concept development. This isn’t McDonaghs only food truck venture, with his second Hanger set to launch in Dinetown’s Iveagh Markets soon.

Produced out of slipstream truck, Wuuf is slinging veggie, New Yorker, classic, Mexican chilli dogs from his truck, alongside cheese and bacon fries and truffle and parmesan fries.
