Dublin Independent Fashion Week Is Returning

Words: Dray Morgan

Dublin Independent Fashion Week is returning for its second installment, giving a platform to the brightest minds in Irish fashion.

We’ve seen an explosion of adoption of Irish fashionwear lately, Dublin Independent Fashion Week gives a chance for these creators to receive their flowers and show how Irish fashion is being pushed forward. Spanning 11 -14 November in Fade Street Studios, multiple facets of fashion will be discussed, presented and appreciated such as panel talks, live music performances, showrooms and of course exhibitions.

11 November

Seeking Judy

we see the bespoke SOLSTICE range from Seeking Judy and Megan McGuigan on display in Fade Street Studios. This luxury handmade knitwear comes as a high fashion sister brand of Seeking Judy which has seen knitwear, feltwork and apparel capture the hearts of Dublin. There’s an underlying Celtic mysticism at the creative core of SOLSTICE.

12 November

Aisling Duffy

There’s a beautiful chaos to the work of Aisling Duffy. Coquette on crack, this scratches an aesthetic itch you can’t get anywhere else in Ireland. Featured in Vogue, Aisling combines eloquence with grunge. Sustainability never looked so good. Here, Aisling will be collaborating with 3D printed umbrella brand, FiveOneSevenEight and Vintage & Lifestyle shop Finders Keepers.

13 November

Pellador

2024 has been the year of the Pellador. Becoming the beacon of the Dublin Creative, it’s hard to not see this knitwear on every night out. A collaboration with Guinness and the embrace of a retro football aesthetic has taken Ireland by storm. At DIFW, we’re witnessing the brands first ever runway show, very overdue.

14 November

WAHALA

On 16 November, The Smock Alley Theatre will be home to the culmination event of Dublin Independent Fashion Week. The showroom will be open to the public, showcasing over 20 independent designers from a variety of fashion disciplines.

Tickets for the events are available on Eventbrite.
