5.

Baste’s Bitterballen

The inclusion of bitterballen on Baste’s menu is a little bittersweet, since this is there final week in their Clanbrassil Street Upper location. The uniquely Dutch snack, has been given a Baste-twist, by deep-frying balls made from our Angus beef ribs, bread and butter pickles and pairing them with a honey mustard dip. You can find Baste in Portobello’s 39 Clanbrassil Street Upper, until August 29th for more information on their closing weekend BBQ visit their Instagram account.

Lobster rolls have been having a bit of a moment lately, but Beef and Lobster’s roll has set itself apart from the posse. A great big slab of warm brioche with a pocket cut down the middle that’s been fitted with a lobster meat mixed with citrus mayo, lemon and garlic butter. You can find Beef and Lobster in Temple Bar’s 39-40 Parliament Street, for more information visit their Instagram account.

The Fat Fox’s Champagne Shortbread

Let’s just overlook the fact that Greystones and Delgany are in Wicklow for a hot minute. Since The Fat Fox’s latest dessert special deserves an inclusion in this list. Three rings of shortbread, layered with a strawberry and champagne inflused gel and finished off with some gold leaf. You can find The Fat Fox on the Church Road, Delgany and 1 Trafalgar Road, Rathdown Lower, Greystones, follow them on Instagram for more information.

Fowl Play’s Pineapple Carpaccio

This BBQ restaurant isn’t all smoke and fire, they can do some delicate things with some exotic fruits, as attested by their latest dessert, the smoked pineapple carpaccio. Describing it as their “hot new desert” the team based out in Dublin 2, have created a smoked pineapple carpaccio, paired it with mango, passion fruit and kiwi dressing and then topped it with coconut and lime foam. You can find Fowl Play at Dublin 2’s 45 Hogan Place, for more information follow them on Instagram.
