A$AP Rocky arrested in LAX in connection with shooting
It comes after the rapper was arrested before Longitude 2019 and missed the festival
New York rapper A$AP Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport in connection with a previously unreported shooting in November of 2021, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim of the shooting survived and told police that Rocky and two other people approached him with a handgun and according to police reports, Rocky fired three or four times. It is believed that a bullet grazed his hand.
Rocky was returning from a holiday in Barbados with his partner Rihanna when he was arrested.
According to NBC News, Rocky was placed in jail and his bail was set at $550,000 and he was released less than three hours after posting bond.
While he is free at the moment, the case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attoorny’s office for filing consideration.
It comes after A$AP Rocky was arrested in Sweden in 2019 and missed his headline slot at Longitude. Rocky was booked for the 2020 and 2021 edition but both festivals were cancelled because of COVID-19.
It’s yet to be seen if A$AP Rocky will face any further consequences.
