Ben UFO, Pearson Sound and Pangaea to play Tengu this October

Words: Ellen Kenny

Tengu is collaborating with new party collective Supper to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of Hessle Audio.

One of the most influential labels in dance music, Hessle Audio, is turning 15 this year, and Tengu is inviting everyone to celebrate. On Sunday October 30, Hessle will celebrate their birthday in Yamamori Tengu, featuring special sets from its founders. Ben UFO, Pangaea and Pearson Sound will perform together in Yamamori Tengu for the first time ever.

This birthday celebration will also launch Tengu’s new monthly Sunday party, Supper, featuring the best DJs they have to offer.

Founded in 2007, Hessle Audio was named after the Hyde Park street Ben UFO, Pearson Sound and Pangaea lived on at the time. Now, the label has become famous for music that challenges what can and cannot work on the dancefloor, with unparalleled technical skills and crowd sensibilities.

Since its inception, the dance label has launched the career of artists such as James Blake, Objekt, Joy Orbison, and Peverelist. The founders’ passion and grasp on dance music history has created a treasure trove label that has defined nearly two decades of dance music.

Recently, Chilean DJ and electronic music Shanti Celeste signed with Hessle and released her single Cutie. On September 10, founder Pangaea, also known as Kevin McAuley, released his first record with the label in two years, “Fuzzy Logic / Still Flowing Water”, exploring dubstep, jungle and techno.

As part of the celebrations, Hessle will be joining music collective The Hydra to celebrate their tenth anniversary at Printworks on October 29.

Entry to the event is strictly over 21s. Click here to get tickets.
