HONEYPOT announce Valentine’s weekend party

Words: Eva O’Beirne

The electronic club night for gay girls and friends has announced its first party of 2023.

HONEYPOT are heading back to Wigwam on February 11 for a fun and flirty basement party.

Entitled HONEYPOT 005: Bee Mine?, the club night will be headlined by multifaceted artist and record selector DJ Egg.

Known for their jungle, footwork and club music-driven DJ sets, their career first began in Limerick City throwing queer-centered events for their community. Now you can catch DJ Egg playing across Ireland and Scotland with their personal take on how they love to dance.

Joining DJ Egg on the line-up is the experimental and ethereal DJ Lychee. Opening the party, Lychee creates sets that are playful and lucid.

HONEYPOT was first launched in July 2022, and has grown to be a staple of Dublin’s queer music scene.

While HONEYPOT centers gay women, the founders want to welcome everyone, including allies and people who are still questioning their gender and sexuality.

“HONEYPOT operates on an ethos of inclusivity, not exclusivity. We want to create a new space for girls, gays, queer people and everyone in between to dance, be free and have fun.”

“Because of that, we ask everyone to follow our values of kindness, respect and community.”

Tickets for HONEYPOT 005: Bee Mine? are on sale via Resident Advisor now, with early bird tickets starting at nine euro.
