Speaking to Earmilk where the tape premiered today, duo Dyrmaid and noGood explained how their self-titled new mixtape came to fruition.
“THE NEOMADiC TAPE is the culmination of the last 3 years of us developing and figuring out our sound and style. It’s been a slow process, and we’re still nowhere near our full potential or having it fully figured out, but the tape is a clear picture of how our path into the future will look. It is a showcase of what we’ve been doing for the past few years.”
We premiered their first single from the tape a few weeks back ‘LiFESTYLE’ and the duo confirmed they’d be linking up with Nathan Barlow and Paperpag Animators for two more videos.
In an interview we had with noGood he explained how the pair linked up.
“Me and Dyrmaid are really tight and were in the same school together when I moved to Maynooth from South Africa in 2010. He saw me messing around with rap and it sort of inspired him to try it out as well, so for a long time we weren’t releasing as NEOMADiC it was just going down as us featuring on each other’s tracks until we realised we had great chemistry and then NEOMADiC started taking shape.”
