New Albums: Archy Moor, Ama Lou, Rhoshi & more

Words: Dylan Murphy

With the endless onslaught of new music every Friday it’s hard to keep up with all the new releases. We’ve curated the essential new albums and projects out today for you to check out.

Archy Moor – Cosy

After a period of relative quiet, Dublin rapper Archy Moor has come out swinging in 2023. Following a riotous support slot for Denzel Curry, he’s dropped his second EP of the year in Cosy. Entirely produced by Earl Saga, it lands via Cloud X and maintains his rich vein of form.

Ama Lou – I Came Home Late

We’ve been hooked on Ama Lou since she dropped ‘Northside’ three years ago. She’s finally shared her debut album and it’s worth the wait.

ATO – DEATH OF A 2k7 PLAYBOY

Featuring production from EDEN and STEVEXCOOPER, Leeds-based, British-Ghanaian-Danish artist, ATO, comes through with a new six track EP that builds on the momentum of SIDE A and SIDE B. Slaloming between genres and styles at will, it showcases the rising artist’s increasing fluency across RnB, rap and pop.

VJ Jaxson – Changes

Tallaght singer VJ Jaxson is plotting his rise as Ireland’s next shapeshifting frontrunner. Sharing DNA with rock innovator Jean Dawson, VJ is putting all his cards on the table in his vulnerable new EP Changes.

Rhoshi – IMAGE

Glitches, machine made textures and luminescent soundscapes coalesce in a gripping new EP from Dublin producer Rhoshi as he humanises a digital world of his own making.

Walshy – few beers

Coming hot on the heels of ‘mm mm god (in the cellar)‘ with Dublin rapper Curtisy, Walshy shares his debut album which features fellow upstarts lowkick amongst others. Tap in.

Filmore! – Filmore!

Not restricted to one particular style, the through line to Filmore!’s debut mixtape is energy. Featuring Mothmom and Uppbeat, it’s a strong introduction to the psyche of alt-rap’s hall monitor.

Elsewhere on District: New Albums: Noname, Turnstile, Isaac Jones & More.
