New Albums: Uly, Jeorge II, Trá Pháidín & more

Words: Dylan Murphy

With the endless onslaught of new music every Friday it’s hard to keep up with all the new releases. We’ve curated the essential new albums and projects out today for you to check out.

Uly – sometimes sad, sometimes groovy

A perfect title for a phenomenal project. Uly comes through with six tracks following a sold out hometown show in The Sugar Club to close out 2023. There’s few with voices as tender and he’s set himself up to make 2024 his own with this release. Tap in.

Jeorge II – Phoenix Park Prophet

Produced entirely by DIEM, Jeorge II’s latest project invites a rare feature from Hare Squead and also includes Fortune Igiebor, who is on support duties with Jeorge

Busta Rhymes – BLOCKBUSTA

Busta invites Quavo, Burna Boy, Giggs and more across 19 tracks.

Skepta, Ryder – 48 Hours

Having grown up making edits of Skepta vocals in his bedroom, it’s a full circle moment for producer Ryder to join forces with Skepta on a new EP. Featuring three edits and two vocal features from Dré, it’s a concise care package from one of UK music’s most influential artists.

Trá Pháidín – An 424

Trá Pháidín blend jazz, post-punk and other influences into an inseparable experimental soup of instrumental goodness. The group are also opening for John Francis Flynn next week too.

racecarbed – Clay Model

This one came from an active member in our Discord. racecarbed’s blend of midwest emo, bitcrushed vocals and melodies that wouldn’t be out of place on a Brakence project hit a sweet spot.

Snow Strippers – Night Killaz Vol. 1

It’s a pointless exercise trying to distill Snow Strippers sound into a neat category. There’s shades of trance, hyperpop, witch house and anything else that takes their fancy in their new EP ‘Night Killaz Vol. 1′. Landing via Surf Gang, there’s no way this wasn’t going to hit.
