Rejjie Snow shares sophomore album ‘Baw Baw Black Sheep’

Words: Dylan Murphy

Dublin rapper Rejjie Snow has shared his sophomore album ‘Baw Baw Black Sheep’ featuring contributions from the late MF DOOM and Snoh Aalegra.

Today, Rejjie Snow has shared the long-awaited follow up to his 2018’s Dear Annie. Baw Baw Black Sheep sits at just short of 40 minutes long and features the likes of the late MF DOOM and Swedish star Snoh Aalegra.

Speaking on the album, Rejjie said, “I approached [Baw Baw Black Sheep] lightheartedly from the point of view of making a short film through music,” Snow explains. “I always loved Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. I watch it all the time. I thought of Baw Baw Black Sheep like a soundtrack to it. I put the movie on with my album, and they synced up perfectly. I tried to tap into all of these feelings. The music is really colorful, and the lyrics are often happy, because that was my state of mind.”

The album arrives alongside a short film titled ‘reaching up to heaven with a broken wrist‘. The 11 minute piece is directed and edited by Matter Research.
