Temporary Pleasure Are Building A Club Space at Dublin Port

Words: Dylan Murphy

The Rave Architecture Collective are teaming with Dublin Port Company for four open-air events.

Temporary Pleasure is joining forces with Dublin Port Company to host four open-air events at the docks. It comes as part of Dublin Port Company’s ‘Connections’ program. Taking place over two July weekends (8-9 & 15-16 July), Temporary Pleasure are set to create a site-specific installation “to interpret and activate the site in collaboration with a program of local artists and collectives”.

It comes after Temporary pleasure built a club over five days in The Complex in Dublin in September of 2022.

Speaking on Instagram, Temporary Pleasure said, “We’re thrilled to finally announce this special project! This summer, we’re partnering with Dublin Port Company to transform the former ‘pumphouse’ site into an ephemeral space to host events and performances in the heart of the working port for the first time.”

The ‘Connections’ program is supported by the Irish Arts Council, Dublin Port Company, the European Union’s Creative Europe Program and promises to be one of the most innovative uses of alternative spaces for club experiences in the capital in recent years.

Temporary Pleasure are also making an open call later in the week via their socials.
