Wastefellow shares ‘Infinity Gaze’ from forthcoming EP

“The new EP is all about virtual space; the songs romanticise abandoning the body and the physical world for a digital reality…”

At the end of August Wastefellow announced that he was readying a new EP called ‘Post-Human Potential’, slated for release on September 28. He also shared the video for ‘Philosophy Plastic’, directed by Kevin Smith aka KOJAQUE, which serves as the first single from the project.

Wastefellow has now shared ‘Infinity Gaze’ and according to the premiere of the track on Dice FM, he wrote the original draft of it more than a year ago.

“At a time when I was trying (and failing) to write straight ahead pop tunes. This was the closest I came to succeeding at that, but I still couldn’t get it to work, so I shelved it, along with an album’s worth of nearly finished stuff.

“When I was writing the rest of ‘Post Human Potential’ I started re-visiting those tracks, and this one kept sticking out. The new EP is all about virtual space; the songs romanticise abandoning the body and the physical world for a digital reality, so re-resurrecting this failed pop tune and hacking it up to fit into the rest of the EP just made a lot of sense in that context.”

Wastefellow embarks on an Irish tour very soon. Check out the dates below.
